1.Red bean pancakes



A cup of Flour

1 Egg

A cup of Milk

An appropriate amount of Red Bean Paste



Step 1. Mix the ingredients with the exception of the Red Bean paste thoroughly into a batter.


Step 2. Spread the batter on plastic wrap on the chopping board, spread the red bean paste on top of the plastic wrap and shape it into a square.


Step 3. To make the pancake, first heat up some oil on a pan. Then, pour the batter into a round shape and fry slowly over a low flame until both sides of the batter are cooked.


Step 4. Place the squared red bean paste in the centre of the round pancake.


Step 5. Fold the four sides of the crust inward to form a square, and fry on both sides until golden.


Step 6. Take the fried pancakes out from the pan and cut them into smaller pieces. The pancakes are now ready to be served.


2.Red Bean Milk Popsicle



150 g of Red Beans

130 g of Sugar

200 ml of Milk

900 ml of Water



Step 1. Soak the red beans in 90 ml of water for about 5 hours.


Step 2. Place the red beans in a multi cooker and cook it for 2 times.


Step 3. Now pour the in a pot and cook it over a gas stove. First, add sugar and add fresh milk. Then, bring the pot to a boil over a low heat. When the beans are cooked, leave it out to cool.


Step 4. After cooling, pour the red bean paste into popsicle moulds, then insert the popsicle stick. Place it in a freezer and wait until it is frozen solid. The Popsicles are ready to be eaten.


3.Red Bean Mochi



Tong Yuan:


300 g of Glutinous Rice Flour

90 g of Caster Sugar

15g of Maltose

30 g of Salad Oil

240 g of Water



250g Red Bean Paste



Step 1. Mix all the dough materials and knead it until it turns smooth.


Step 2. Steam the dough over high heat. Then. take it out and let it cool.


Step 3. After cooling, knead the dough until becomes smooth again and divide it into portions rough 15 grams in weight.


Step 4. Divide the filling into portion with each portion roughly weighing 10 grams. You should have the same number of fillings as the number of dough portions


Step 5. Take the dough and place the filling into the middle. Next, wrap the filling with the dough and place it on a bowl covered with flour. The mochi is ready to be served.

4.Red bean Longan Purple Rice Porridge



100 g of Purple Rice

100 g of Red Beans

50g of Glutinous Rice

50g of Longan

2.8 litres of Water



100ml of Rice Wine

120 g of Caster sugar



Step 1. Wash purple rice and soak it in water for 5 hours; Repeat this process with red beans.


Step 2. Wash and drain the glutinous rice.


Step 3. Place all the ingredients of into a pot. Next, add water and bring the pot to a boil. Then, cover the pot with a lid and cook it over low flames for about 40 minutes.


Step 4. After cooking, add longan, rice wine and fine sugar. Then, cook it for about 10 minutes before turning off the flame and let it simmer for about 15 minutes. The dish is now ready to be served.


5.Red Bean Pancakes



120 g of All-purpose flour

10 g of Caster Sugar

1/8 teaspoon of Salt

1 tablespoon of Vegetable Oil

1/4 teaspoon of Instant Dry Yeast

100g of Milk



120 g of Red Bean Paste



Step 1. Put all the ingredients in the basin in order. and pour the milk in.


Step 2. Stir and knead into a dough


Step 3. Knead for 6-8 minutes until the dough is smooth and no longer sticky.


Step 4. Knead the dough into a round shape and close it tightly


Step 5. Add some vegetable oil into the basin


Step 6. Spray some water on the dough to prevent it from drying up


Step 7. Allow the dough 60-80 minutes for it to expand to twice its original size.


Step 8. Sprinkle some all-purpose flour on the table and move the dough on to the table,


Step 9. Knead the dough to squeeze out the air trapped inside.


Step 10. Now, cut the dough into 4 equal pieces,


Step 11. Fold the dough into a round shape and cover with a cloth towel for 15 minutes.


Step 12. Sprinkle some all-purpose flour on the surface of the dough.


Step 13. Flatten the dough into a disc with a diameter of about 10cm.


Step 14. Put the red bean paste in the middle and use the dough to wrap it up.


Step 15. Flatten the dough further until it only has a thickness of about 1cm.


Step 16. Heat up a pan, then place the dough in.


Step 17. Sear both sides using low flames until it turns golden.


6.Red Bean Shaved Ice



150g of Red Beans

1 Litre of Water

200g of Rock Sugar


1 tablespoon of Brown Sugar

1 spoon of Condensed Milk



Step 1. After washing the red beans, soak in cold water for about 6 hours. Then, set them aside for later.


Step 2. Pour the red beans and 1 litre of water into a pot. Bring the red bean to a boil. Then, switch to low heat and continue to cook if for another 1 and a half hours.


Step 3. Next, add rock sugar and boil over medium flame. After that, switch to low flame and continue to cook it for about 15 minutes. Then, leave the red bean paste to cool.


Step 4. Place shaved ice and place on a bowl, then top with the red beans paste. Finally, add brown sugar and condensed milk on. The dessert is now ready to be served.
